Francisco Tarrega - Translation Project
At Geres Translations we specialize in literary translations. But this doesn't mean we just translate books! We also work on blogs, newspaper articles, and even video captions. Our latest literary project involved an article on famous guitarist Francisco de Asís Tárrega y Eixea (better known as Francisco Tárrega). I translated the article from German to English; please find a short excerpt below:
Francisco de Asís Tárrega y Eixea, ist am 21. November 1852 in Villarreal, Spanien geboren. Er stammte aus einer musikalischen Familie und erhielt seinen ersten Gitarrenunterricht bereits als Achtjähriger. Da zu dieser Zeit das Klavier die Gitarre mehr und mehr verdrängte, empfahl Tárregas Vater ihm, das Klavierspiel zu erlernen, so dass Tárrega bereits in jungen Jahren beide Instrumente weitgehend beherrschte. 1862 wurde Tárrega Schüler des berühmten Gitarristen Julián Arcas.
Francisco de Asís Tárrega y Eixea, was born on 21 November 1852 in Villarreal, Spain. He came from a musical family and received his first guitar lessons at the age of eight. At that time, he became more passionate about the piano rather than the guitar, Tárrega's father pushed him to learn to play the piano, meaning that Tárrega already mastered both instruments at an early age. In 1862 Tárrega became a pupil of the famous guitarist Julián Arcas.
